NIPUN Maharashtra (SCERTM) 1.4.3

The government of Maharashtra officially launched the 'NIPUN Maharashtra' mission on 5th March 2025, under circular number शासन निर्णय क्रमांक: संकीर्ण २०२१/प्र.क्र. १७९/एसडी-६. This initiative aims to establish a time-bound program targeted at enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) levels among students from 2nd to 5th grade across all Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools in the state.

During the inauguration, the Education Commissioner, Mr. Sachindra Pratap Singh (IAS), along with Mr. Rahul Rekhawar, Director of SCERT Pune, acknowledged VOPA’s ongoing projects focused on FLN improvement in Thane and Beed districts. They formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VOPA to support the implementation of the 'NIPUN Maharashtra' initiative at the state level.

The Assessment App has been developed to facilitate the FLN program implementation within Maharashtra. It serves as an effective tool for educators, school administrators, and policymakers to assess student progress comprehensively, aligned with the NIPUN Bharat and FLN guidelines. The application aims to strengthen students' foundational literacy and numeracy skills through accurate and accessible assessment methods.

Key features of the app include:

The deployment of this application aims to advance FLN objectives tailored for Maharashtra’s context. It is intended to support teachers and educators in tracking student learning trajectories more effectively and implementing timely improvements. Additionally, it provides actionable insights that can significantly contribute to achieving the state's FLN goals in alignment with the Maharashtra State Education Board's initiatives.
